Beautifully accessible: Why embracing inclusive design shouldn't hold back your creativity

Inclusive Design
2022

As designers, the term ‘accessibility’ can sometimes feel like a creativity killer. Accessibility should be a chance for us all to grow creatively, and make technology more inclusive, not sacrifice visual design in order to meet standards.

When we get wrapped up in checking boxes, it becomes easy to stop thinking about the people that are actually going to use your website, and that’s when things can get ugly.

From the beginning of a project, all the way through to the final UI designs, this talk will explore how to embrace inclusive design and the creative challenges it can bring. Designing within constraints leads to more creativity, and creativity leads to aesthetically pleasing websites that are just all round better.
